Leo is a happy 9-year-old schoolboy who holds three world records. He started to learn piano at 6, with the distinguished piano teacher Simon Bottomley. A year later he became the world's fastest and youngest student to pass ABRSM grade 8, passing with distinction, with 144 marks out of 150. Next, he appeared on the TV show Britain's Got Talent, featuring in all the main UK newspapers. The YouTube video of Leo's BGT performance has been viewed by almost 3 million people, making him one of the most popular British pianists.
Leo gained his ATCL Diploma at 7 with only a couple of months' practice, setting his 2nd world record. In August 2016, he achieved his 3rd world record by becoming the youngest student to gain a music degree, the LTCL Performance Diploma, (Licentiate of Trinity College London, equivalent to the final year of an undergraduate degree), again with distinction, this time 92%. He was an impressive three years younger than the previous world record holder, and was featured in the ITV news. He was invited to open the UK TV show "Little Big Shots", as the VIP guest.
Leo thrives on competitions. He won first prize in the EPTA Belgium (International) competition 2016, and reached the EPTA UK 2017 national final for under 12s. He was the youngest attendee, and winner, in the Poland International Chopin Festival's highest category IV at 8 years old and was called the next Lang Lang, his performance being praised by the judges as the best in 50 years. He was also the youngest pianist to perform a personal concert at the World Piano Teachers Conference. After winning the American Protégé 2016 Judges Distinction Award, Leo was invited to perform in Carnegie Hall on 30th May 2016, American Memorial Day.
During the 2016 Christmas Holidays, Leo gave three solo concerts and two performances with orchestra in Italy and Slovenia. He stunned his audience in every performance, and received rapturous applause. In February 2017, he was introduced as a superstar in Chinese New Year Celebrations, and has received many more invitations from TV shows and concert tours around the world.
