Orchestra in concert

The Wilmslow Symphony Orchestra was founded 1947 and our initial adventurous repertoire has continued to expand. We have always been prepared to tackle challenging and ambitious works.

We strive to select programmes which will appeal both to our players and to our audiences.

The orchestra works with professional conductors and soloists and aims for a high standard of performance.

We give 5 concerts a year in the Wilmslow Leisure Centre theatre and also accompany choral societies. Brass, wind and string groups from the orchestra play out in the local community.

We rehearse on Friday evenings from 7.30pm to 10.00pm at Honford Hall, Handforth.

We are always happy to hear from anyone who is interested in playing with us and from any organisation interested in sponsoring us or in advertising in our programme. We also have a celeste for hire.

Autumn concert

Arnold, Bruch, Mendelssohn

Our next concert will be on October 14th in the Evans Theatre in Wilmslow Leisure Centre and we will be welcoming back Juan Ortuño once again as conductor.

There is plenty of convenient free parking at the Leisure Centre, and the theatre itself has comfortable seating and good disabled and restricted mobility access. The tiered auditorium ensures that everyone can see as well as hear clearly.

Tickets for our concerts cost £12 (Concession £10, Under 18s £2) and are available from the Ticket Secretary (01925 756 144), from Bang & Olufsen, Alderley Rd, Wilmslow (01625 527666), from Therapy, Bank Sq (01625 400113), at the door, or can be reserved via the website.
