NEXT CONCERT

Our summer concert this year will be on Saturday June 7th.
The concert will feature the effervescent Festive Overture of Shostakovich, followed by Respighi's Boutique Fantasque, a ballet in one act, where dolls magically come to life and dance. Rimsky-Korsakov's vivid and enchanting suite, Le Coq d'Or, is based on an opera in 3 acts, The Golden Cockerel. The Pines of Rome, the most recorded of Respighi's works, is a tone poem in four movements: lively and playful, solemn and mysterious, tranquil and serene, and finally powerful and triumphant.

We are delighted to welcome back Tom Newall to conduct the concert.

CONCERT DETAILS

Founded in 1947 the orchestra works with professional conductors and soloists and gives 5 concerts a year in the Evans Theatre in Wilmslow Leisure Centre. We also accompany choral societies.

We are always happy to hear from anyone interested in playing with us and any organisation interested in sponsoring us or in advertising in our programme. We also have a celeste for hire.
